Privacy policy

Last updated 17 August 2026

This policy explains what information Bruce Garage Door Repair collects when you phone us or use this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Who we are

Bruce Garage Door Repair, ABN 63745643826, a garage door repair business operating from Morley, WA 6062, Australia. You can reach us on 0482 911 999 or at service@brucegaragedoorrepair.com.au.

Information we collect

When you phone us or book a repair

To attend a job we need your name, phone number, service address and a description of the fault. Our technicians record this in our job management system so the right person turns up with the right parts. We may also record the price quoted, the work performed and any notes relevant to warranty.

When you use this website

There are no contact forms on this site, so we do not collect names or email addresses through it. We do record technical and behavioural information:

  • Tap-to-call events. When you tap a phone number on this site we record that it happened, which page you were on, the type of device, the page you first landed on, and the referring website or advertising campaign. This tells us which pages and which ads actually produce phone calls.
  • Advertising identifiers. If you arrive from a Google Ads advertisement, the click identifier Google appends to the link (gclid, gbraid or wbraid) and any campaign parameters are stored for the duration of your browser session and recorded alongside a tap-to-call event.
  • A pseudonymous visitor identifier. A random string stored in your browser so repeat visits are not double-counted. It is not linked to your name.
  • A one-way hash of your IP address. We do not store your IP address itself. We store an irreversible hash of it, which lets us de-duplicate repeat taps without retaining an identifier we have no business reason to hold.
  • Analytics. If enabled, Google Analytics and Google Ads collect standard usage information subject to Google's own privacy policy.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site sets a small number of cookies and browser-storage entries. Some are strictly necessary — a security token that protects forms in our staff area, and a session cookie for signed-in staff. Others support the analytics and advertising measurement described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work and you will still be able to phone us.

How we use your information

  • To attend, quote, perform and warrant garage door repairs.
  • To contact you about a booked or completed job.
  • To dispatch job details to the technician assigned to your repair.
  • To understand which pages and advertisements generate phone calls, so we do not waste money on advertising that does not work.
  • To meet our record-keeping, tax and insurance obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.

Who we share it with

Job details, including your name, phone number, address and the fault description, are sent to the technician assigned to your job. That message is delivered over WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta and subject to its own privacy terms.

Aggregated advertising measurement data is shared with Google to report conversions. Our website and database are hosted with a third-party infrastructure provider. We may disclose information where required by law.

How long we keep it

Job records are retained for at least seven years to meet tax and warranty obligations. Tap-to-call tracking records are automatically deleted after two years. Staff session records expire and are purged automatically.

Security

Access to our job system requires a password-protected account. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections, passwords are stored hashed, and staff access is limited to those who need it to do the work.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Phone 0482 911 999 or email service@brucegaragedoorrepair.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable period.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we will try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
