How Much Does Garage Door Repair Cost in Perth?
Indicative prices for every common repair, what pushes a job up or down, and why removing the call-out fee changes the arithmetic more than people expect.
Most garage door companies will not publish prices. We would rather give you a realistic range up front, because the alternative is you spending an afternoon ringing around trying to assemble one.
Everything below is indicative, in Australian dollars, including GST, for standard residential doors in the Perth metro area. You get a fixed price on site before any work starts.

What pushes the price up
Door size and weight. A double door needs heavier springs, sometimes two technicians, and more time to balance. Timber and insulated doors weigh substantially more than a standard steel sectional.
Springs replaced in pairs. More today, less over the next two years — see the spring article for why this is not an upsell.
Access. Steep driveways in the hills suburbs, tight side clearances in Subiaco and Mount Lawley laneways, and high ceilings in newer builds all add time.
Obsolete parts. Older openers sometimes need a whole unit because the board is no longer manufactured. That is a supply reality, not a preference.
After-hours. Evening, Sunday and public holiday work carries a surcharge. We tell you before we dispatch, not after.
Cascading wear. A door that has been run on failing springs for months often needs cables and rollers too. We quote all of it up front rather than discovering it halfway through.
What keeps the price down
No call-out fee. Most Perth operators charge $80 to $150 just to attend, often credited against the job if you proceed and lost entirely if you do not. We do not charge one at all. On a $250 repair that is a material difference, and on a job you decide not to proceed with it is the whole difference.
Parts on the van. Springs, cables, rollers, remotes and the common opener parts travel with us. A second visit costs you nothing extra with us, but it costs you another day of a garage that does not work.
Repair before replace. A worn drive gear is a fraction of a new opener. We are independent, so nothing pushes us toward the bigger sale.
Phone diagnosis. Two minutes describing the fault properly means we arrive with the right part. This is the single biggest saver on the list.
The arithmetic on the call-out fee
Say your door will not close and you are not sure why.
With a typical call-out fee, having someone look costs $120 before anyone touches anything. If it turns out to be a misaligned sensor — a five-minute fix — you have paid $120 plus a minimum labour charge to learn that.
Without one, the same visit costs you the price of the repair and nothing else. And if the diagnosis is bad news you would rather sleep on, you can send us away without paying for the privilege of hearing it.
That is the entire reason we do not charge one. It is not generosity — it is that arguing about a fee is a bad way to start a job.
How we quote
- You phone and describe the fault. We give you an honest range on the call.
- We attend, usually the same day, and inspect the door properly.
- You get a fixed price for the repair before anything is touched.
- You decide. If the answer is no, there is nothing to pay.
- If we find something else once we are in there, we stop and ask before we act.
No hourly rates that grow while we work. No estimates that change once the panel is off.
Warranty
Twelve months on parts we supply and workmanship we perform. If something we fitted fails inside that window, we come back and sort it at no charge.
Get a real number for your door
The table above is a guide. The price for your door depends on what has actually failed, and the only way to know that is to look. Phone us — it costs you nothing to find out.
